Plus she starts with lockpicking, and is a really good character dmg wise. I'd hold off on The Darkspawn Chronicles until either between Origins and Awakening, or just do it before and accept you might have minor spoilers. Dragon Age Origins -> Awakening -> Golems of Amgarrak -> Witch Hunt. They are the only plot relevant DLCs I think (except The DLC for that game have always been wonky. I remember when I installed awakening/DLC titles, it involved doing a hard drive swap, creating a origins account, and a lot of other stupid human tricks. It took about a week until I had all of the logins in order and the additional hardware required. And in the end, two of the DLC assets did not I’ll tack on - the various item DLC’s work, and the other campaigns DLC’s are selectable (Leliana’s Song, Awakening, etc). The one DLC dude at camp who starts a mission is also there. But Shale’s town is just… not on the map.
I'm constructing my recommendation so op doesn't have to spend much money on all the dlc. Rather than saying all the dlc minus Darkspawn Chronicles is important because of lore, pick out a few that actually give the good experience of Origins
