If it is "AF-S 24-70mm f / 2.8 G ED VR" you are talking about, be aware that the focus motor often needs to be changed p.gr.a. wear if it is used over many years. Personally I do not want to walk around with the old 24-70 / 2.8G + FTZ on a vacation, due to weight and size. The old 24-70G is very large, where Z 24-70/4S is small and compact.
