I've been told by a remapper that mapping out the EGR will goose the DPF - doing a bit of research, on many cars (though I can't find anything specific to Mondeo, but assume it's the same) the regen won't take place if the EGR is closed and with it mapped out, it will never take place and will eventually clog the DPF.
